Summer Chess Extravaganza

Join 9 Queens and the Youth Volunteer Corps of Southern Arizona as we host an afternoon of free chess lessons, games and contests. Beginners: learn how to play a game of chess (using chess passports provided by Bookmans) and get a free slice of pizza! Intermediate and advanced players come by for pizza, casual games and fun.

This event is free and open to the public.
Note: This is a family friendly event; no alcohol will be served during the event.

Deadly Decoys this Sunday

Reminder: do not miss the 9 Queens Ladies Chess Academy this Sunday, May 23 from 2-4 pm at the Bookmans Low Lounge in the Girl Scout Resource Center!!! This month National Master Leo Martinez will be teaching advanced players how to create deadly decoys to distract their opponents. Beginners will learn the king and queen dance while going over how all the pieces move. This free workshop is generously sponsored by Bookmans.
