9Queens Arrives in Belize

Jean and I arrived in Belize yesterday for an all girls’ chess camp run put on by the Belize National Youth Chess Foundation (BNYCF). 9Queens hooked up with the BNYCF through its founder, Ella Baron who worked with us in New York before abandoning the big city for the jungle. We’re really happy here so far: the scenery is stunning and the girls are super polite and smart.

I will be giving a simultaneous against 20 girls tomorrow so expect more photos and games soon! I hope my opponents are not as merciless as the mosquitos.

The girls at the camp come from all over Belize
